In the blue of the emerging twilight’s embrace,

whispers of dreams dance with grace.

Bathed in hues of turquoise and sapphire,

a world where sorrows soon expire

welcomes and is admired by

those who call the beautiful Earth

covered by the ravenous blues

of the lakes and oceans

their home.

Bluebirds sing of love and loss,

their melodies like whispers across

the blue spruces in the forests beyond.

The Robin stays protective

over its nesting eggs

held securely within the tree’s branches.

Blue Iguanas endemic to the Grand Cayman

Try to survive the endangerment they face

From predators and humans daily.

The ocean’s depth holds many blue inquiries.

From the Blue Tang fish

also known as Dory to fans of Finding Nemo

To the Bottlenose Jellyfish  

Whose transparent body

Allows it to go undetected by predators.

The calming and sometimes raging waves of the ocean

Has many animals and coral that call it home.

From the ocean’s blue inhabitants to the food that grows in our gardens or swims in the ocean.

Blue food while rare does appear on our tables

Blue foods offer interesting, deep-colored, and healthy choices.

Through fields of forget-me-nots and dew

Hoping to never forget the ones they have lost along the way

and hold tightly to the ones

Still in this honest and mysterious thing called life with them.

Reflection on the fluttery butterflies we felt on our first dates or during those first kisses.

In the shadows and loss of the love we once had, craved, and will

Amidst the clouds where dreams may stray

Adulthood beckons brave and true

While childhood says a grim goodbye

A journey through the blues we roam

Navigating waves to find our home and selves.

With each hue a story unfolds and beckons to be told

Within the hearts, eyes, and minds that are often

Entwined in the silver and golds of imagination and inspiration.

Blue is more than just a color bright and light  

For it whispers secrets in the star-filled night

As an adventure within every shade of its color

Awaits for memories to be gently made

And remembered with comfort and

A calmness that calms the beating

Of our ambitious hearts and roaring minds.
