In the emerald depths of the forest,
Where leaves whisper secrets to the wind,
Green reigns supreme in nature’s palette of colors,
A hue of life and growth, never tamed.
A color that represents beauty and hope
For a better future
For balance and renewal
In this life and in the next one.
Moss carpets the forest floor,
Soft underfoot, a verdant embrace,
ferns unfurl in delicate dance,
reaching for the canopy above,
as algae and frogs linger in the watering ponds
Green apples hang heavy on branches,
Juicy and tart, a crispy delight,
Grapes grow upon the vines
Awaiting to be turned into delicious glasses of wine,
Salads await the adorning green dash of color
From the lingering lettuce, spacious spinach,
Crunchy cucumbers, picturesque peppers,
And perhaps a dash of green onions and avocado
To add a sweet and spicy taste
Broccoli, green beans, celery, brussels sprouts, and okra
All await their turns to be a sidekick to the main dish
At lunch, dinner, or snack time adventures
While we snack or feast upon the greens on the table
These green colored animals
slither, crawl, walk, wonder, hop or swim
through the various landscapes upon the earth
The red-eyed tree frog camouflages as it sleeps.
As a green sun fish swims in rivers and lakes.
A buffalo treehopper blends easily into various things such as leaves
While the emerald tree monitor lizard lives happily in a small group it calls family.
The green anaconda slithers searching for its next prey
While the green lynx spider remains venomous to both prey and predator.
A dragon beetle was as part of the world’s metallic beetle collection
And the inca jay flys and fights to protect its family from harm.
Animals and people can join in on a green adventure.
When they travel to these lively places around the world
Sapa Valley, Vietnam seeks the mountaineers with its emerald rice paddies dotting across hills
As the rain forest in Coast Rica calls to those interested in the hearing and seeing the calls
of the wild in their natural habitats
Italy calls those who wish to see, eat, and drink gorgeous greenery
As Ireland hopes to bring a green courageous glow to everyone and everything that stops upon it lands where one can visits pubs, see greenery all over
And maybe even get a chance to hear the tales and legends
Of how the national holiday and pride behind St. Patrick’s Day came to be.
Perhaps stop by in the lively filled Africa to see nature in all its glory
From elephants that journey in herds
To the lions that roar in their prides
And giraffes that nuture their bodies upon the growing leaves on the trees
That whisper safety and protection
Upon all that enter and live in the area
They call home.
Grass sways in meadows, a sea of green,
Inviting bare feet to dance along
To nature’s musical beat
To enjoy childhood while it lasts
And never forget to keep embracing the beauty
And growth that has already happened or will happen in this beautiful world
We call our home and in this life we are so fortunate to live
In the world of green, there is peace,
A calming presence, a soothing balm,
A reminder of the earth’s abundance
And the beauty in simplicity.
So let us cherish the color green,
In all its shades and forms,
A reminder of life’s resilience,
And the wonders of the natural world.
