The Yearly Yellows

The Yearly Yellows

·        Prompt – Yellow provided by Tiffany E.

·        Written on June 6th, 2024

In the meadow of golden dreams

Where sunlight dances on the streams

Butterflies whisper secrets to the breeze

And birds sing melodies with such ease.

Yellow petals reach for the sky

Aging gracefully never asking why

Celebrating the hues of life

A journey marked by grace and sage.

Yellow graces the second largest planet in our solar system Saturn

With its glowing yellow rings

Glittering amidst the stars

As the sun provides warmth and heat upon the Earth

We call our home.

Jewels and stones await to be found

And made into treasures that know no bounds.

Amber gleams with appreciation for beauty

Citrine with a vibrant glow

While many search for the gold

Hidden below the Earth’s surface

For its beautiful color and price.

The search as well for the gold

That shines within us all

Waiting to be found

And treasured like no other.

Treasures like the honeycomb homes of bees

Where they produce the honey that sweetens our teas, food, and hearts.

The Blue and Yellow Macaw that provides a look into its colorful world

From its yellow, blue, and white feathers to its beautiful home

Of the Amazon Rainforest.

To the jarring yellow of nature like the Burmese Python

That slithers and hisses in search of its next prey.

The adorable Golden Retriever that make us smile

From their lovely personalities and loyalty.

The mysterious and curious Yellow-throated Marten

Native to Asia that loves to eat fruit and nectar.

The charming creatures wonder the Earth

Spreading light and curiosity as they go.

From the animals that roam to the flowers that bloom.

Dahlia offers a color that feels us with a buttery, rich feeling of strength and grace.

Yellow Iris represents and reminds us positive change and warmth.

Yellow Tulips brings us Spring cheerfulness and happiness.

Daffodils bring color amongst the striking coldness of winter.

Dandelions and Marigolds cover us with relaxation and beauty.

The Graham Thomas Rose offers us a unique touch of thank you and nods to friendship and platonic love.

Sunflowers grow tall offering shade and food to animals

and a snack to human in the form of sunflower seeds.

Bloom flowers give way to the nourishing foods we enjoy.

Bananas that grow in bunches on trees and provide rich potassium.

Lemons rich in vitamin C and key source to lemonades.

The sweet Yellow Bell Pepper and juicy Yellow Kiwi.

The tropical fruits of dragon fruit, pineapple, and mango.

The corn that we often pair with mashed potatoes

And eat as a significant side dish in our Thanksgiving meals.

From the yellow foods we eat to the yellows we see in the creative arts.

Yellow is often used to convey warmth, sunshine, optimism and positivity.

Seen in the flowering field within the painting

“Cold Morning on the Range” by Frederic Remington

To emphasize the ideas of independence and nature’s mastery.

Showcased against a dark background in

“A Young Girl Reading” By Jean-Honoré Fragonard

Emphasizes how yellow has the ability to transform

Darkness into light, joy, and warmth.

Lovely seen and adored in characters like

The honey loving Winnie-the-Pooh

The little but fierce Tweety bird

And the loyal and electric Pikachu.

Yellow offers a warming environment for creativity and adorableness.

In the coming of age, the tale warmly unfolds

Bathed in the joy and happiness of yellow

Ancient wisdom held in every golden ray

A symphony of light guiding the way for

The art of growing and joyful song

In harmony with nature’s glowing loving hands

Chicken cluck and cats purr with glee

As we embrace adulthood with open curiosity.

For amidst the treasures of Earth’s embrace,

We find solace in this whimsical place

Embracing our true selves in hues so mellow

That we waltz through the fields of yellow

With such a glowing joy that they might

Just call us happy fellows.
