Meet Mikayla Young

I’ve always believed that stories are constellations waiting to be mapped. Born and raised among the rolling hills of Tennessee, I followed my love for the written word to Tennessee Tech University, where I earned my degree in English Literature. My journey as a writer truly took flight when my poem 'Tennessee' caught the eye of the TN Magazine Excellence in Poetry Prize, sparking a commitment to capturing the fleeting, magical moments of life through both my prose and my photography.

Whether I’m diving into the contemporary fantasy of Clara’s Canvas or exploring the self-published depths of Whispers of Ink and Tales of the Seasons, my goal is to blend romance, mythology, and mystery into something transformative for you. Currently, I’m weaving the threads of my upcoming paranormal series, The Phantom Page Turners. When I’m not lost in a manuscript, you’ll find me nurturing our vibrant bookish community on Instagram, always striving to uplift emerging authors and remind every reader that literature has the power to both inspire and educate.

Why I Write

I write because I want my stories to feel like a safe, starry place for you to land. By blending the wonder of fantasy and the pull of romance with the timeless echoes of mythology, I explore the very real human experiences of grief, hope, and growth. To me, storytelling is more than just entertainment; it is a way to connect, to heal, and to spark a sense of curiosity about the world around us.

I invite you to stay a while, explore these celestial realms, and perhaps see a piece of your own journey reflected in these pages. My greatest hope is that you find inspiration here, just as I find it in the quiet moments beneath the Tennessee sky.
