Mikayla's Bookish Star Rating Review Guide
Every reader and person has their own ranking system for various things, including reading and books, which is absolutely great. I'm sharing my rating guide so that anyone who reads my reviews and ratings can get a better grasp of how I evaluate and review books.
A bit of info
I provide ratings from 1 to 5 stars, including half-star increments, on all review platforms. My book evaluations are categorized into sections: Characters, Atmosphere, Writing, Plot,igue, Logic/Lessons, and Enjoyment. I approach each read with an open mind, jotting down my thoughts on what I like and dislike. After completing the book, I reflect on my notes, assessing elements like character growth, uniqueness, setting detail writing quality, plot consistency, lessons learned, and my overall impressions. I strive to be respectful in my reviews, valuing the diverse perspectives of, editors, publishers, and fellow readers, and celebrating our different tastes and experiences. Books rated 1-2.5 stars not receive reviews on Facebook, Instagram, or Amazon.
1 and 1.5 Ratings
I found that the characters, settings, writing style, and plot of book were either unengaging or inadequately developed, which presented in my reading experience. Ultimately, I struggled to connect with the narrative and did not derive enjoyment from it. Nonetheless, I acknowledge that this is solely my perspective, and it is entirely possible that other readers may appreciate and enjoy the book in a manner that I could not. Consequently, I will refrain from posting reviews of these specific titles on platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, my blog or Amazon, except for brief mentions in my monthly wrap-ups.
